Structure behind Mechanics II: Deduction

نویسنده

  • Toshihiko Ono
چکیده

This paper proves that protomechanics, previously introduced in quant-ph/9909025, deduces both quantum mechanics and classical mechanics. It does not only solve the problem of the arbitrariness on the operator ordering for the quantization procedure, but also that of the analyticity at the exact classical-limit of h̄ = 0. In addition, proto-mechanics proves valid also for the description of a half-spin. To be Submitted to Found. Phys.

Some Formal Considerations on Gabbay's Restart Rule in Natural Deduction and Goal-Directed Reasoning

In this paper we make some observations about Natural Deduction derivations [Prawitz, 1965, van Dalen, 1986, Bell and Machover, 1977]. We assume the reader is familiar with it and with proof-theory in general. Our development will be simple, even simple-minded, and concrete. However, it will also be evident that general ideas motivate our examples, and we think both our specific examples and th...

Some Steps towards a Transcendental Deduction of Quantum Mechanics

My purpose in this paper is to show that the two major options on which the current debate on the interpretation of quantum mechanics relies, namely realism and empiricism (or instrumentalism), are far from being exhaustive. There is at least one more position available; a position which has been widely known in the history of philosophy during the past two centuries but which, in spite of some...

Deduction of the Quantum Numbers of Low-lying States of 4-nucleon Systems Based on Symmetry

The inherent nodal structures of the wavefunctions of 4-nucleon systems have been investigated. The existence of two groups of low-lying states with specific quantum numbers dominated by total orbital angular momentum L=0 and L=1, respectively, has been deduced. The understanding of the inherent nodal structure is found to be crucial to a systematic understanding of the spectrum. PACS: 21.45.+v...

The empirical basis of equilibrium: Mach, Vailati, and the lever

About a century ago, Ernst Mach argued that Archimedes’s deduction of the principle of the lever is invalid, since its premises contain the conclusion to be demonstrated. Subsequently, many scholars defended Archimedes, mostly on historical grounds, by raising objections to Mach’s reconstruction of Archimedes’s deduction. In the debate, the Italian philosopher and historian of science Giovanni ...

A Linear Deduction System with Integrated Semantic Guidance

Guidance systems are central to the success of automated deduction systems. Semantic guidance systems are guidance systems that exploit semantic information when guiding the search of a deduction system. The general objective of this research has been to investigate how semantic guidance can be used to improve the performance of automated deduction systems. More specifically, this research has ...
